A few weeks back I had the pleasure of spending the day with Nan.
We spent time in the kitchen baking, ate lunch and drank several cups of tea together.
Visits are so different without Pop but it felt like he was with us all day long.
It’s comforting to Nan that his beautiful carpentry work is throughout my entire home.
We travel from room to room and reminisce as she strokes the many built-ins and woodwork that his hands once touched.

Oh my, that brought tears to my eyes. Such a sweet relationship you two have. My grandmother recently passed away and I shipped quite a few pieces of her furniture across the country to my house. The chifferobes still smell like her when you open the doors and sometimes I do exactly like your nan and walk around touching the pieces that were hers for so many years. xoxo

That made me cry too. I wish I had grandparents. She is so lovely.

Your Nan is so elegant and beautiful, shows right through the photos 🙂
I enjoyed that little share, cheered me up.
I think it’s important to give the spotlight to our elders who have given such awesome gifts to us and traditions. She looks like quite a baker too and it reminded me when I see posts about your Norah who also enjoys baking. So cool!

She is really lovely. I lost my Grandma a couple of years ago and I miss her every day.
