our 5th year going to assateague island.
a tradition.
this year there were 70 of us.
we took over an entire campsite loop.
it was windy and cold but that did not stop little people and big people from going in the water. (i was NOT one of them)
there was much laughter.
the one thing i always look forward to is laughing with my friends.

how fun! we are heading out to camp with college friends next weekend – only 21 of us! laughing is the best with old friends. (and I see you have the same tent I got in college… our family has outgrown it unfortunately!)

beth, chris and i bought that tent at the llbean store in maine when we were first dating 20 year ago. it is a great little tent. all 4 of us still squeeze in it!! on the way home we were all talking about how we need to upgrade:)

Absolutely beautiful pictures! I recently found your blog and have loved going back through your archives, it has become one of my very favorite blogs! My husband and I are thinking of camping at Assateague Island this summer but all of the campsites right on the beach are booked up…are all of the campsites there within a short walking distance to the beach or would it be worth waiting until another year when we can get a site right on the beach?

I love Assateague. We use to live in Annapolis, MD and we got to go camping there a few times. Now we live in the Texas Hill Country. Very far from a beach like this…:)
